Hey yo!

It’s been a minute since I’ve written a post!

Livingbreely had 2 wonderful guest posts from other bloggers in the wellness and meditation community. You can check out those posts here and here!

Honestly, collaborating with other women is probably my favorite part of running a blog. I truly believe that women work best when it’s a communal effort. When she has – a tribe – of other women supporting her and each other!

(Are you interested in writing a guest post? – please shoot us an email to [email protected])

While I took 2 weeks away from writing my own content, I was busy creating NEW content for you!

If you’re part of my newsletters then you know that I’ve been busy creating courses. (4 to be exact!)

One of them is MindfulnessU Stress Mastermind course which walks you step-by-step on how to utilize mindfulness to stress less. It’s available for $11 and you can read about here!

I’m also starting a 21-Day Mindset Shift where we dive in deep to the stories you tell yourself and your own mindset and how they are holding you back from really reaching for what you want out of life. It begins May 28th, so if you’re interested, you can enroll here.

It’s only $21 dollars (literally, a dollar a day!) and I give you 21 strategizes to make actual progress with your mindset.

Probably my favorite course I created (ok, they are all kind of my favorite!) was the 5 Mindset Mistakes You’re Making That Are Stressing You Out!

It’s a FREE course that is designed to help you become aware of the mindset mistakes we make and how they can multiply our stress!

Read my post on defining your mindset you can check it out here and how it can’t hold you back from accomplishing your goals.

The FREE course has the following lessons:

Defining stress (Why we have stress in the first place)

Lack of self-adequacy (MAJOR KEY!)

Impermanence (new word alert!)

Reaction (Reaction = action)

Power Off (How technology and social media can influence our stress and mindset!)

Catch Some Z’s (Yes! Sleep is a mindset!)

It also comes with a downloadable workbook that pairs with each of the lessons. These worksheets were created to help you comprehend the information in the lesson and also get reflective about your own stress!

So why did I decided to make a course about stress?

I’ve talked about my own journey with a stress burnout in my newsletter so here a little bit of my background and why I feel so qualified to discuss stress and help other women overcome it!

Not too long ago I was work 16 hours days. I was coming into the office on the weekends. I needed a few glasses of wine to put me to sleep. I was eating a super crappy diet. I didn’t work out. I invited the wrong kind of relationships into my life. I was also secretly dealing with an anxiety disorder.

Soon enough, my body gave out and I was put on bed rest for 2 months and given a listen of prescriptions that I would have to be on indefinitely.

This didn’t work for me.

Like at all.

My doctor’s orders were to “stress less”

Literally – that was it.

Okay dude, thanks for the help! *insert dramatic eye roll here!*

The only advice I took from my doctor was the ‘rest’ part and that was mainly because I was too fatigued to do anything else.

Over those 2 months, I became my own advocate for ‘stressing less’

I dived into a mindfulness practice, I started meditating, I began to reevaluate my diet and exercises. I created morning and evening routines and a WHOLE LOT MORE.

Although my recovery went on for a lot longer than those 2 months. It took me several years to learn some of the things that I share in my courses. It was a lot of trial and error. (Read: tears, coconut oil in uncomfortable places, and temper tantrums)

But it really began to take form when I started shifting my mindset, when I stopped TRYING to stress less but rather, redefine my relationship with stress.

Simply telling myself “don’t stress out” or “stress less” over and over in my head (and sometimes out loud) was not cutting it. If anything – it felt borderline psychotic.

Stress is inevitable – you cannot escape it. But what we can do is make the conscious choice to engage in GOOD stress or switch our perspective over the things that we cannot change.

Fun fact: Our bodies actually need stress, like a car needs oil.

I mean no disrespect in asking I’m just noticing so many of similar inspirational blogs are by people who have the extra time to devote to this type of self care. As a wife, and more so a working mom, self care and slowing down is a whole different struggle. Do have any colleagues that you’d recommend?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience as a wife and a working mom. I am not a wife or a mother but I deeply empathize with the challenges that occur when trying to create more time for self-care and slowing down.
