Hey, fam!
Last week I posted a picture of my skin on my Instagram stories and I got about 15 direct messages asking me what I’ve been doing recently.
So I thought I would give you the full deets!
This is only going to be the products/tips & tricks that I’ve been using not a complete day-to-day skin care routine! (Although, I would be happy to do one of those too!)
All of these products are super affordable. I believe that good skin care doesn’t mean you have to drop mad $$$ on products and procedures but you do have to be consistent with your routine.
Major Key Alert! Consistency is SO important with your skin. It’s your largest organ and it needs to be cleansed and taken care of. Plus, it’s a great way to get ahead/prevent scars, wrinkles, sunspots etc!
Also, it’s 2018 babes. There is no excuse to NOT take off your make up at night when we have make up wipes. Keep a stash next to your bed for those nights that…well you know.
I digress.
Let’s get into it.
Some of these techniques might not even be news to you- but sometimes we just a little reminder!
Drink all the liquids – mostly water.
Hydration is KEY. I can’t stress this enough. Drink water. Lots of it! Our body is composed of 50-65% water so you know we need it. Our liver needs water to flush out all the toxins. Our skin needs water to keep it moisturized and plump. When we’re dehydrated our skin can look dry and flaky. Ew. I get it – drinking plain water can get boring so I mix it up with a La Croix during dinnertime and cup of chamomile tea before bed. You can even check out my ginger lemonade recipe.
Trim down on the sugar –especially processed!
It’s no secret that sugar is bad for us and it’s even worse for our skin! My body is highly sensitive to sugar so I could munch on a little piece of Halloween candy and the next day I’ll wake up with a zit! Even eating foods like French fries or potato chips can have our skin looking greasy and oily. No buneo! Cut down on sodas, milk chocolate (dark is better since it’s closer to pure cocoa!), and try natural sweeteners like honey or agave!
Face Steamer
My facial steamer is my holy grail! I’ve had this one for about 2 years and it’s been amazing! Steaming your face helps open up your pores, unclogging pores of impurities, improving skin texture and infusing moisture back into your skin. It won’t be long before someone comments on your new glow! I’ve also used this for my sinus and allergy problems that I get around spring or winter. It’s been great for helping drain head colds too.
Facial Cupping
I’m sure you’ve heard of cupping. You know those large circular bruises you’ve probably seen on Michael Phelps and Gwyneth Paltrow. Well, they aren’t just for athletes and celebs, in fact, it’s an ancient Chinese medicine practice! I plan on doing an entire post about facial cupping but for now – here are the facts: helps with facial puffiness, brings blood and circulation to the top layer of your skin giving the appearance of fuller and glowing skin. I do this at least 2-3 times a week for about 10 minutes.
Eye Pads
You guys – these are less than 5 bucks for 2 packs of 30! That’s an insane deal especially because they ACTUALLY work. I even got my dad hooked on them. No joke – he texted me the other day asking if I could order him some “of those eye sheet things” (haha) I keep a pack in my car for when I’m driving to a meeting and need a bit of a boost in my under eye area. They help with dark circles and puffiness!
Face Masks
Everyone loves a good face mask. I have skin on the oilier side so clay masks and anything with tea tree oil is my favorites. I use these little face paintbrushes to apply my masks and it’s helped me distribute the product in one layer so that the mask dries evenly.
I love the Aztec Indian Clay mask – it lasts forever and is super easy to mix!
Tea Tree oil is my JAM. I love this mask for purifying my skin!
This Dead Sea Mask is also great for shrinking large pores!
Micellar Water
I was extremely hesitant to try out micellar water. I thought it was only for people with dry skin. Nope! I was wrong. I use a small cotton pad at night to remove makeup and cleanse my face. I was so surprised a few days later when my skin tone was more even and the small patches of dry skin were gone! Apparently, it’s not like REAL water and there is an entire science to it but it basically these things called micelles dissolve dirt, makeup and build up without stripping your skin or exfoliating. The best part of this magic? It’s like 5 bucks at your local drugstore!
Facial Massager
Okay, so you might have seen some celebs on Instagram using this purple stick thing. Well, it’s a facial massager! The pretty purple one that’s all over the internet was a little steep – about $70 bucks. I’m all for investing in my skin but only when I know that things work. I was 100% convinced that dropping 70 bucks was the move so I went to Amazon and found something similar for $12 dollars! I use this in the morning after I’ve put on my moisturizer for a good 10 minutes. I noticed a HUGE improvement in my skin texture, size of my pores and felt that my makeup went on really smooth.
Coconut oil
Is there anything coconut oil can’t do? Seriously! I’ve used expensive nighttime moisturizers and coconut oil remains undefeated. This is why I’m such an advocate that skincare doesn’t have to break the bank! I’ve seen it first hand – my $8.99 jar of coconut oil beats out my $90 dollar jar. Coconut oil leaves my skin feeling soft, plump and hydrated. It also has antibacterial properties to help with acne or pesky zits.
Rose Water
Even though I have oily skin, my face can look dry and flaky REAL QUICK if I don’t keep the moisture balanced. It’s great for cleansing, hydrating and toning! I apply rose water by spraying it onto my face about 3-4 times a day. Once after washing my face in the morning, 2-3 times during the day for a little pick me up (Yes, you can spray onto your makeup without it running off!) and once at night before applying my coconut oil. Rosewater also smells heavenly!
Well now that my secrets are out, I’ll leave you to get busy on upping your skincare game!
I’ve added all of these to my resources page so make your way over to get all the links + pics!

Great tips I definitely need to try some of these!
So glad you enjoyed! Definitely try out the little eye pads. They do WONDERS! 💕✨
I’ve been looking for new ways to minimize these pores. I’ll definitely have to try some of these. Thanks!
Yesss! Pores are my biggest peeve about my skin! The Aztec mask is AMAZING for shrinking them down!
I am considering getting a face steamer. It just looks like a mini-spa experience in my own home. Thanks for sharing some really cool products—Micellar water? I will have to check this one out. 👍🏽
Yesss! You gotta get the steamer! It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve done for my skin. Micellar water was actually used by French women first, I guess they have harsh water that would strip their skin of natural oils so they came up with Micellar water! Cool huh? Xo
I have used cocunet for my hair but never thought to use it for my skin! Thanks so much for the amazing read and tips (:
I love doing a coconut oil mask for my hair! It feels so good.
Awesome! Will tell my lovely girlfriend about these skin care tips
Thank you for the great work
P.S. Actually I’ve heard we’re 75%-80% water 🙂

How often do you use the face steamer?
Hi Lauren! I use the face steamer about 2-3 days a week. I usually do it Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Never back to back days – it could dry out your skin!
So, you can really try your hand out at this, creating good money on the way. To me, this is the most safe way to journey inexpensive. In 2006, the business noted gross revenues of over $24 million.
Nevertheless, it was too expensive to take a holiday at the final minute due to expensive journey expenses. The cruise line business caters to the team sales methodology to fill up cruise cabins.
