Items Every Wellness Babe Needs This Summer

know the official start of summer was a couple of weeks ago but for me, summer always starts after the 4th of July!

I blame the BBQ’s, pool parties and beach outings for marking it ‘officially summer’ in my books.

If you’re part of my weekly newsletter than you probably read about how i backpacked through Europe a few summers ago. I wish I could do this every summer! But you know…there is this thing called life that happens, which usually involves some ebb and flow.

My summers look a lot different lately; less partying, less booze, less sleeping till 1pm.

But I still like to enjoy a long summer day, a day at the beach, bonfires, BBQ and warm afternoon.

Read below for what I keep handy for whatever adventures this summer brings me!

Alba SunScreen

Protect yo’ self! Seriously! Skin cancer is NO joke! I prefer this sunscreen because it’s lightweight and fast drying. I prefer to keep one bottle in my house and one in my car. You never know where you’ll end up this summer so it’s great to have a bottle in your car that you can quickly spray yourself down with. Nothing ruins a summer night like a painful sunburn![/cs_text]

Drink Up!

Staying hydrated during a hot summer day is one of the best things you can do for yourself! I make sure to take sips of water throughout the day – I never wait until I’m thirsty. If I think about water, I’ll just take a few sips and continue on with my day. I love this water bottle because it allows me to add some fresh fruit like lemons, limes or cucumbers to my water! It can get super messy when using just a normal bottle. If you’re looking for something to keep your water ice cold for HOURS – not even exaggerating- check out a Hydro Flask. I bought mine a little over a year ago and have used it almost everyday since.

Facial Cleansing Wipes

Clogged pores are the worst. During the summertime I can become super prone to breakouts because of the humidity and just sweat in general. I like to keep a pack of wipes in my car for those times that I spend the day at the beach and want to get rid of any sand or old sunscreen thats stuck on my face. I’ll also keep a pack next to my bed for those nights that I stumble in after a long balmy day and just want to relax in bed and not do my entire night time skin care routine. Your skin is your largest organ so make sure to keep it healthy and happy!

Tinted Moisturizer

I love using a tinted moisturizer during the summer! For starters, they give me a really natural look and allow any sun that I’ve gotten that day to really shine through. I’ve been using bareMinerals since I first started using makeup and I’ve always been so impressed with the quality and ingredients that they use in every product. I only use a dime-size amount of this tinted moisturizer and it will last me all summer. If $20 bucks is a little out of your price range, I also keep this Aveeno one in my makeup bag for backup!

Mophie Portable Charger

I might sound melodramatic when I say this but…I really can’t be without my phone. It’s not like an addiction thing (I promise!) It’s more of a safety issues! Really! I like to get up and do spontaneous trips and go to new places. I need to have my phone to use Google maps or call my friends if we get separated. I love to keep my mophie charger with me all year long but it comes in handy during the summer when I’m constantly taking pictures, SnapChatting and using Instagram. I would recommend grabbing an extra usb cable so you’re never without one! I’ve had my mophie charger for about a year and it holds a great charge and I never have to worry about it!

Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Soap

I use this all year round but it is especially nice after a summer day. I love the lavender scent and how light and refreshing it is. It works perfectly to rid my skin of any left over sunscreen or sand that I picked up during the day. A little bit of this soap goes a long way so it usually takes me a good 6 months to finish a bottle. Dr. Bronner’s soaps are multipurpose so I use this soap to wash my makeup brushes as well!

I love Spotify! I’m seriously obsessed! They just make it so easy to find good music and make playlists.
